Hey Corner group! Your book's title is intriguing, don't you think? I was wondering...what would you consider to be your corner of the universe? What is your "special place"? Is this place a secret, or do you share it with others?

My special place is my room. It is my special place because it is a place were I can be alone, play, or just relax. I like this place because it is MY place and I can do what I want with it.
I share my special place with others, it is not a secret that I keep to me and only me. Sometimes I dont want anyone in there because I want to be alone, but other than that my room is free to all, exept my dog. {He eats a lot of my stuff.}
Yes.I think the title of our book is very intriguing. That is what interested me.My corner of the universe is my grandmothers house because I don't have any responsibilities.i can just relax.i share my grandmothers house all the time with my family.
My special place is the covered swinging bench, over looking the lake in my backyard. It's not a secret because others are welcomed to come on it because it's a public swing, but normally people don't go on it. It feels calm when I swing on it.
My other favorite spot is my room. I have tons of pictures and personal things in there to make me feel at home. I used to be really serious about not letting anybody in there, but now it's ok for others to go in.
Hi Ladies! I am enjoying reading your insightful comments.
My special place is the Sarah Barker bench overlooking the river at school. I didn't know Sarah well, but I was really upset by her tragic death. The bench is a great place to go to think. I guess it's not a secret since I just told you guys! I'm just kidding, it's really not. All of my high school friends used to know they could find me there if I was upset.
I think it's important to have a special place. What do you think?
Mrs. B I think that it is good to have a special place were you like to go, because you need a place to think, relax, play, you name it. It is also a place were you can be yourself.
kem, It is cool that your special place is on that swing because it is a great place to relax. Also to think or play. I really like your special place. I really like swinging on my swings because it makes me feel so calm.
Hey corner of the universe people! I just wanted to say I really like the book so far. Do you? I wonder what is going to happen to Hatties when she meets her new uncle!
Mrs.B Of course it is important to have a special place! Without my room I'd be crazy. I mean no time alone! No time to collect your thoughts! I'd be so cranky. With all the stuff going on in my house I NEED time alone to relax.
My room is another one of my special places. That is where I usually do my homework. That is where I listen to music. That is where I go to relax and read or when I'm mad or upset.Without rooms people would have no privacy.
Hey MAR what did you think about Hattie"s Nana saying "This might be the end of Hayden"?Hey KEM what would you do if all of a sudden your parents tell you that you have another autistic uncle?
If I heard somebody say this might be the end for somebody all I would ask for the next couple of days would be who who who?If my parents told me I have an autistic uncle I'd be like oh my gosh, what am I going to do, what is he like when am I going to meet him?
Mrs.B How would you handle an autistic relative? How do you think you would act toward him? Would you be jealous of his attention or resctful of his disability or both?
MMS-I would like to say that I would not be frustrated by an autistic relative, but I'm not perfect, and since I don't have one, I can't really say.
I'm not convinced that Adam's problem is autism. Does the book say that for sure? I always thought it might be schizophrenia. I do have a cousin who is schizophrenic and it's really hard to be around her sometimes. I feel bad for her because she can't help it and I love her all the same.
MMS I thought it was kind of wierd that Hattie's Nana said the death of Hayden. I was a little concerned, btu then the book just dropped it. Maybey it ment that since there was going to be a some what new uncl that the death of Hayden ment that he would just be forgotten.
MMS I think it would be a little odd if I learned i had a uncle i never heard of, it would make me want ot know everything about him. Ecpecially if he had a disability.
Hatties parents kept her uncle in a secerete in a special school were he would basicly live. So know one would ever see him out of school. I just have a question, would you guys keep a relaitve a secerete, or would you tell your family? I probably would tell since I would have to tell sonner or later.
